Once again we have been stuffing our faces at Maximiles HQ! This time it’s all in aid of the world cup.
You may already be aware we love a bake off. Well, in true spirit of the World Cup 2014 we decided to have a cook off this week. Those keen to take part were given a country (participating in the World Cup of course) & asked to produce a dish to represent their country.
We have included a couple of photos of our favourites & of course the winner who was Jamie (Assistant Accountant) with his very accurately measured & perfectly presented ‘Alfajores’ from Argentina (for those of you scratching your heads they are two round, sweet biscuits joined together with mousse, dulce de leche or jam)!
Other entries included Craig’s Du pain, Du Vin, Du Boursin (or Bread, Wine and Cheese) for France! Bending the rules slightly with this shop bought bundle of treats but we certainly enjoyed them.
A vibrant creation for Germany with Steve’s ‘Erdbeertorte’ (A Strawberry pie)
Last but not least, some fabulous ‘Portuguese Tarts’ from Amy (bit like an egg custard).
Which is your favourite?
Please leave a comment if you would like us to share the recipe for any of these.
